Fort George -  Impressive Georgian military barracks, still in use.

Culloden Battlefield -  Bonnie Prince Charlie's last stand. The last battle on UK soil.
Highland Games and Clan Gatherings - throughout the area in summer. Including the oldest and finest local amateur games at Abernethy - held usually on the second Saturday in August, and Newtonmore - always the first Saturday in August.
